When the new kid showed up, Ike could barely contain himself. The clichés were endless, starting with ‘did it hurt when you fell from heaven?’ and only getting worse from there. But in the end he decided that just ‘hello’ was enough, since he was not the most socially adept person on the block, but he wasn’t that bad.

Turns out the kid’s name is Pit, and he was the general of the Goddess Athena or something. For Ike, if it wasn’t for the fire-breathing turtle he already saw, he would think that the kid was out of his mind – even with the wings. But appearances are deceiving, and though he doesn’t look it, the little angel can kick serious butt. Which is just fine with him, since fighting is his favourite thing, next to chicken.

Lucky for him, fighting isn’t the only thing Pit is good at. The feathers on those wings are really soft, and Ike can’t keep from running his fingers through them as he leans in for another kiss. He tastes like a warm summer evening beside the fire and makes him feel like a kid with a bag of sweets that he doesn’t want to share with anyone else. And when those pale arms warm around his neck and pull them closer, it just feels like heaven.
